ABOUT JULIANA ADDISON

Juliana lives in North Carolina, and has been a working artist for over a decade. She fancies most mediums, and has worked in everything from oil and acrylic paint, watercolors, paper collage, felt and even ceramics. Her passion is creating fun and dynamic art pieces in whatever medium calls to her.

Her illustrative style is easily recognizable, and she has honed it well over the years. She focuses on bringing her unique, fun style and own voice to a piece, so that it speaks to the client for years to come. She says, "My favorite part of doing a piece is towards the end. Where my artistic ability and my clients vision have married and the result is a wonderful blend of the two".

Juliana’s inspiration comes from many sources. An avid art lover, she has always been drawn to works of van Gogh, Picasso, Frida and illustrators such as Sir John Tenniel, Mary Blair, Dr. Seuss, Bill Watterson and Jim Davis. Other sources of inspiration come from nature, animals and children.

Her favorite thing to illustrate is personified food and she will often come up with very humorous depictions that make her laugh out loud. Adding a sense of humor and joy to her work is always a goal.

She’s currently working on writing and illustrating several children’s books, and is hoping to publish her first book in 2022.

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, baking, playing with her young daughter, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Juliana makes her home in the North Carolina Piedmont with her small family, and their two cats, Cobain and Ella Fitzgerald.
